Regulations - Swimming
General Information
The event aims to promote the practice of open water swimming, the spirit of overcoming challenges, and integration among athletes, strictly prioritizing safety. It will consist of two distinct tests: the 1500m competitive test (12/12) and the participative Heitor Theberge Festive Crossing, of 2500m (13/12).
Competitive Test - 1500m (12/12)
Location and schedule
- Location: Madeiro Beach.
- 07:00 AM - Meeting and numbering of athletes.
- 07:30 AM - Explanatory technical meeting.
- 08:00 AM - Start of the test.
- 09:30 AM - Start of awards.
Course
Triangle format, marked by three buoys, with approximately 250 meters on each side. Athletes complete two laps of the circuit (counter-clockwise), totaling 1,500 meters.
Equipment and accessories
- The use of propulsion accessories (fins and paddles) is prohibited.
- Use of swimming cap and goggles is mandatory.
- Wetsuits are not allowed.
Timing and logistics
Conventional manual timing system (judges, table staff, finish line video recording, and stopwatch), without electronic chips. Athlete numbering is done on the skin with black or blue permanent markers in the accreditation areas.
Water safety
Coordinated with the Fire Department and staff in vessels provided by the organization (canoes, kayaks, rafts, and motorboats). The test is only considered finished after checking that all swimmers have returned to shore. Time limit: 75 minutes.
Categories and age groups
- General category: male and female.
- Age groups (male and female): up to 39 years old; 40 to 59 years old; over 60 years old.
- PwD category: single category (male and female), regardless of age.
Awards
General trophy for the first overall finishers. Trophy and gold medal for the first finishers in each age group, with silver and bronze for second and third. Trophy and gold medal for the PwD category, with silver and bronze for second and third.
Participation of minors
Minimum age of 14 years completed by the day of the event. Athletes under 18 must present the Minor Responsibility Term (see Annex I below), signed by a parent or legal guardian at the time of accreditation. Absence of the term prevents the start.
Final considerations
Kit for all participants (shirt, Mana Fest necklace, and cup). Mandatory use of swimming cap and goggles. Limit of 80 athletes due to safety measures.
Heitor Theberge Festive Swim Crossing - 2500m (13/12)
Location and schedule
- Location: Praia do Centro (Bar de Garagem Restaurant) to Madeiro Beach.
- 06:00 AM - Meeting and numbering of athletes at Bar de Garagem.
- 06:30 AM - Explanatory technical meeting.
- 07:00 AM - Start of the test.
- 08:30 AM - Start of awards.
Course
Straight direction from Praia do Centro towards Madeiro Beach, marked and accompanied by vessels.
Equipment and accessories
Use of propulsion accessories (fins and paddles) is allowed. PwD athletes may use floats, vests, or any auxiliary equipment, as the test is strictly participative in nature.
Water safety
Coordinated with the Fire Department. Guide vessel leads the athletes and indicates the path. Protection corridor with fixed vessels at Ponta dos Golfinhos and before Ponta do Madeiro. Time limit: 110 minutes.
Participation of minors
Minimum age of 16 years completed, due to the distance and the level of demand of the open sea. Also requires the Responsibility Term (Annex I).
Awards
Participation medal for all who complete the test within safety conditions. Participative test - no podium or division by categories.

Annex I - Responsibility Term for Minors
Document to be printed, filled out, signed, and delivered on the day of the event by the legal guardian. Contains fields for: guardian's name, ID, Tax ID (CPF), relationship to the minor (parent/guardian), minor's name and date of birth, authorization and waiver declaration, place, date, and signature.
